Introduction

What you are seeing is still a work in progress. The site is an online database of food terms that will be used to help with translation of menus. We started with just French and English, but Spanish has recently been added.

Current functionality

The most important function of our term base is the hierarchy that relates concepts to each other. The first step has been designing the database so that it can most efficiently store the information as well as most easily convert to TBX, which can be done from the homepage. Because the hierarchy is so important, finalizing the database design has possibly not been completed yet. So there are still likely changes to be made.

Anyone is now able to register themselves as a user, or have an admin register them. Any user can add or update terms in English, French or Spanish. Admins have a special administrator page in which they can manage users and approve/disapprove terms. Normal users have an administrator page which only allows for term additions and updates.
